Fine Arts & Crafts Rules
All rules and regulations will be strictly enforced. Dan Emmett Music and Arts Festival reserves the right to limit participants and/or their activities to those which are related to the arts and craft and/or are consistent with our Arts & Crafts Festival, as judged and determined by the Dan Emmett Music and Arts: Fine Arts Festival Committee.
Check-In & Set-Up Times
- The check-in booth will be located at North Main Street at Chestnut Street.
- Check-in is scheduled to begin on:
- Thursday, August 7 at 10:00 pm until 12:00 am
- Friday, August 8 at 7:00 am and will run until 10:00 pm
Items for Sale
- NO buy/sell allowed in the Arts and Craft area.
- All items for sell must be created by the artist.
Arts & Crafts Festival Hours
- Friday August 8 from 1:00 pm to 8:30 pm
- Saturday August 9 From 9:00 am to 8:30 pm
- Sunday August 10 From 11:00 am to 5:00 pm
- The Festival will be held rain or shine.
- Crafters must exhibit during show hours.
- Plan to have your booth set-up by 10:00 am Friday and up till 5:00 pm Sunday.
- Clean-up should be completed by 7:00 pm Sunday. Please do not leave refuse behind when you depart
Space Information
- Booth Spaces Size: 10’ x 10’ or 10’ x 20’
- Inventory storage will be in your space.
- Tent stakes are not permitted.
Loading / Unloading
- You must have the parking permit displayed on your dashboard of your vehicle to be cleared to drive into the crafter area.
- Do not leave your vehicle unattended unless in the designated crafter parking area.
- If you need a volunteer to watch your unloaded exhibit while you park, or need other assistance to unload, please contact any of the Registration Personnel and we will make the arrangements
Parking
- Parking is free during the craft festival on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for everyone, but a crafter parking pass will be issued to you for overnight parking and loading/ unloading purposes.
- Your parking pass for the assigned parking area will be issued to you at the time of registration check-in and should be kept on your dashboard during the entire event.
Security & Insurance
- There will be no locked storage provided during this event.
- Night Security will be provided from 12:00 pm Thursday to 7:00 am Sunday. All goods may be stored in your space overnight. We have an excellent Police unit and a group of security personnel dedicated to maintaining security on site during the event and throughout the night, however, you must decide if your goods will be left up overnight. Many crafters choose to do so.
- Each crafter is required to carry his / her own insurance to cover personal property or personal injury.
Booth Sitting
- Volunteers will be provided to sit your booth for you in the event that you may need to take a break. Please contact one of the Registration Personnel if you would like to use this service.
Crafters & Workers Breakfast
- A complimentary breakfast will be served Sunday morning for all crafters and event workers from 8:00 am – 9:00 am. Plan on joining us for a great breakfast.
- A crafters update meeting will be held right after breakfast from 9:00 am – 9:30 am. This will be a perfect opportunity for you to provide us feedback on our event and also a time for us to give you any updates concerning our event.
Taxes
- Crafters are responsible for obtaining an Ohio Tax Number to legally collect Ohio’s 6.5% sales tax (for Knox County)
- If you have any questions about the Ohio Sales Tax Form, please telephone the Ohio Department of Taxation at (800) 282-1780.
- You may obtain a Transient Vendors License for $25.00. This license is good in any county and no longer requires renewal. A vendor’s license is required by the State of Ohio. See Ohio’s web site at: http://obg.ohio.gov/newforjuly2005.shtml
- The Ohio Department of Taxation is located in the Voinovich Building at 242 Federal Plaza West, Suite 402, Youngstown, Ohio 44503.
- Proper payment of taxes is the crafters responsibility.
Miscellaneous Festival Rules
- No alcohol permitted anywhere in festival area.
- No selling of food, drink or tobacco items permitted.
- No firearms permitted anywhere festival area.
- No passing out of any handbills.
- No blocking of any drive ways or pedestrian walkways permitted.
