Congratulations to John Vonck and Corie Inverso, winners of the 2011 Knox Idol!
The 2011 Knox Idol competition will be held at the Dan Emmett Music & Arts Festival on Friday, August 12, at 9:00 p.m. All finalists will perform and then be voted on by the audience at the Festival. Ballots, with two voting sets, will be available for purchase for those wishing to vote for a $1 donation, with all proceeds being donated to the Woodward Opera House restoration project.
The contestants will be narrowed to two per category in a preliminary performance, with each then giving a second performance. The audience will then vote one last time to select the divisional winners and runner-ups.
The first place winners for ADULT age category will receive the Knox County Idol Award and a $1,000 cash prize. The second place winners for this category will receive a cash prize of $100 and 2nd place trophy. The first place winners for YOUTH age category will receive the Knox County Idol Award and a $200 cash prize. The second place winners for this category will receive a cash prize of $50 and 2nd place trophy.
The auditions for this competition were held on Friday, July 22 and were judged by a panel of qualified judges: Marcy Rinehart, Yvonne Sanson, and Matt Starr. The finalists for the competition are are:
