Dear Friend of the Festival:
The 24th Annual Dan Emmett Music & Arts Festival will be the premier event of the year in Downtown Mount Vernon. It encapsulates everything good about Daniel Decatur Emmett and the community’s musical heritage. It is the “flagship” marketing activity where Mount Vernon (particularly downtown) is “on display” to the world. Our previous Festivals have been tremendous successes with over 20,000 people attending annually.
This year’s Saturday night headliner is The Buckinghams. Other featured entertainment will be: Thursday evening - Phil Dirt & the Dozers, Friday evening – our original Knox Idol.
Funding the Festival has always been a challenge. Unlike events such as a fair, we do not have a “gate” where we can charge a nominal fee to park or as an entrance fee. In essence, it is a FREE event! Since 1998 when we started as the Festival Directors, the Festival has relied on business sponsorships to fund approximately half of the Festival expenses. In 2008, we also began asking for individuals to assist us.
Your help is needed to help perpetuate the Dan Emmett Music & Arts Festival. Please consider becoming a Friend of the Festival this year. The package includes:
- Two reserved seats for The Buckinghams Concert on August 13th
- Special Individual Recognition in the Program Guide and at the Festival
- Your “Tax Deductable” Donation as a “Friend of the Festival” is $150*
This special opportunity allows you to help perpetuate the Festival and enjoy a great concert. It is folks like you that will make it possible to continue to bring the great musical groups to the Dan Emmett Music & Arts Festival. The cost of the individual Friend of the Festival package is $150. We would note that donations of any size are welcome for membership as a Friend of the Festival (click here to download the form).
