For the first time in history, the Dan Emmett Music & Arts Festival Car and Motorcycle Shows were rained out! But don’t worry, you still have a chance to take home a trophy! Whether you turn the crank or the key to get here, you don’t want to miss out on the 29th Annual Antique & Classic Car Show and the 15th annual Motorcycle Show, both rescheduled for Sunday, October 2nd with assistance from the Knox County Convention & Visitors Bureau. Antique and classic cars, trucks, motorcycles, and other motor vehicles are invited to be proudly displayed around Public Square in historic downtown Mount Vernon.
Car Show Chair Ben Staats and a committee of helpers are providing the local leadership necessary for the success of the 2016 Car Show. Registration takes place between 8:00 a.m. and Noon. Entry fee is $10. Vehicles that previously registered for the Dan Emmett Festival are not required to pay again. Over 50 awards for the antique and classic vehicles will be presented at the awards ceremony. New this year is Motor Music at 1:00 p.m. Free event T-shirts and dash plaques will be given to the early registrants, and there will be the same 50/50 raffle as in previous years. The Car Show sponsor Donley Ford Lincoln of Mount Vernon will present the Best of Show Award. The event will be held on the Square and down South Main Street.
The 15th annual Motorcycle Show, sponsored by Mid-Ohio Suzuki-Honda-Yamaha-Kawasaki is starting at Noon. Motorcycles of all makes and models are invited to cruise into town to show off their wheels on Public Square. There are six (6) classes of competition – Custom, Touring, Vintage (25 years and older), Trike, Cruiser, and Sport, will have the opportunity to participate in a judged show, with a special award for Best in Show.
If engines and paint jobs weren’t enough, live entertainment will be featured on the Square, with plenty of delicious food to keep you going all day long. For more information, call (740) 392-3378 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
