Osmond Brothers To Headline At 2013 Dan Emmett Festival
The Dan Emmett Music & Arts Festival is pleased to announce The Osmond Brothers will headline at the 2013 Dan Emmett Music & Arts Festival on Saturday evening, August 10. The Osmond Brothers have been performing in front of world-wide audiences for almost 50 years. They have practically lived on a stage, thrilling many millions of people with their brand of entertainment!
The Osmonds perform all styles of music from barbershop, pop, rock, and country. Their close harmonies cannot be matched by any other group. They have sold over 80 million albums and have 47 gold and platinum records to their credit. They have broken records for sell-out performances once held by the Beatles and Elvis, and have won numerous awards including the People's Choice Award, Best Vocal Group and Best Show in Branson, Missouri, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. They have a huge loyal fanbase from all over the world who have followed the Osmonds from the very beginning!
Wayne, Jay, and Jimmy have just returned from a highly successful tour of the United Kingdom and also toured with Jimmy’s American Jukebox Show. Their latest DVD, “The Osmonds Live 2006 London” rocketed to the #2 position with a bullet on all major British charts and remained on the charts for several weeks. Their brand of entertainment cannot be beat!
The Osmond Family has been in the entertainment business for almost 50 years and this year marks their youngest brother, Jimmy’s 40th year in entertainment. The Osmonds keep getting better and better and there seems to be no end in sight!
Reserved seating for The Osmond Brothers performance is available. The reserved area is preferred, up close seating, available on a first come first serve basis. The cost will be $20 per seat. Tickets will be placed on sale beginning on May 1st. Information concerning ticket sales will be on the Festival website at www.DanEmmettFestival.org. Advanced purchase is recommended to guarantee seating. Advanced reservations require prepayment. Space for bring-your-own-chair seating is available behind the reserved seating at no charge.

2012 Knox Idol Winners


The 2012 Knox Idol competition brought out the crowd in support of their favorite youth and young adult vocalists. The nine contestants were selected by the three preliminary judges, Marcy Rinehart, Ruth Frady, and Bruce Jacklin from a group of twenty-two hopefuls who auditioned on July 20. For the Youth Category (Ages 14-18): Arie Alvarado, Rachel Aust, Trey Caldwell and Lisa May. For the Young Adult Category (Ages 19-29): Victoria Bell, Leann Berg, Ashley Burke, Taylor Carpenter, and Michael Michael Simmons.
The final competition was divided into two rounds, with the audience voting for their favorite after each. The panel of three judges, Marcy, Ruth, and Bruce, provided constructive feedback and encouragement to each Finalist at the end of their performance. Matt Starr, the MC for the evening, kept the crowd energized throughout the competition and while the votes were being counted.
Two contestants from each age category moved on to Round 2, after which Lisa May and Michael Simmons were named the 2012 Knox Idol Champions. The Runners-Up, Arie Alvarado and Leann Berg, also gave incredible performances.
The 5th Dimension featuring Florance LaRue perform tonight at 9:30 on the First-Knox Main Stage. Would you like to have a prime seat for the concert? Tickets for reserved seating are still available for $20 each. Tickets will be held in the Festival Office, located at 107 South Main Street, until 6:30, after which they will be moved to the tents beside the Main Stage. See you there!
Knox Idol and Ohio Idol

All finalists will perform and then be voted on by the audience at the Festival. Ballots, with two voting sets, will be available for purchase for those wishing to vote for a $1 donation. All proceeds will be donated to the Woodward Opera House restoration project.
The contests will be narrowed to two per category in a preliminary performance, with each then giving a second performance. the audience will then vote one last time to select the divisional winners and runner-ups.
The first place winners for the adult age category will receive a $1,000 cash prize. The second place winner for this category will receive a cash prize of $100.
The first place winners for the youth age category will receive a $200 cash prize, while the second place winner will receive a cash prize of $50 and a 2nd place trophy.
