If there were ever a perfect festival to have in early August, it was the 2014 Dan Emmett Music & Arts Festival! Perhaps the best weather on record for the Festival brought out the crowds on all four days. But it wasn't only the weather that was perfect!
We had incredible performances by our Knox Idol contestants (congratulations Danielle Rebon & Brody Vess!); outstanding contestants for the fiddle, banjo, and flat-pick guitar contests; nearly 250 beautiful antique & classic cars and motorcycles on Sunday; and standing room only for The Willis Clan and Larry Gatlin and The Gatlin Brothers.
We want to thank all of you for coming out and celebrating with us, and to thank all of our volunteer staff who make the Dan Emmett Music & Arts Festival possible year after year. WE thought it was as perfect as can be, but we want to know what YOU think, too! If you're a fan of the hit reality television series "America's Got Talent," then you may already be familiar with one of America's fastest rising singing groups, The Willis Clan. They follow in the footsteps of some of the greatest family singing groups of all time, including The Osmonds and The Partridge Family.
This Willis Clan is made up of 12 brothers and sisters, a family of musicians, dancers, athletes, artists, and writers from one of America's music capitals—Nashville, Tennessee. This talented sibling group plays a wide variety of music, including pop, country, bluegrass, jazz, and Irish, a genre that won them the World Championship in Irish Music back in 2012 at The Feadh in Cavan, Ireland.
Why are we telling you all this? Because on Saturday, August 9 at the Dan Emmett Music & Arts Festival, you will have the pleasure of seeing The Willis Clan LIVE on the First-Knox Main Stage!
