Contests
There are several contests held during the Dan Emmett Music & Arts Festival that are not to be missed! Thursday evening come downtown to watch the Cheer Competition. Teams from all local and area schools have been invited to participate.
On Thursday and Friday the Knox Idol competition is sure to be exciting. Knox Idol showcases local talent to find the top musical performer of Knox County. Youth ages 14 to 18 and Young Adult ages 19 to 29 will sing their hearts at a chance to win the coveted Knox Idol.
What better way to start out your Saturday morning with a scenic jog or long walk during the 5K Run/Walk "We Never Run Alone," which starts on East Gambier Street at South Main and takes you down the residential streets of Mount Vernon, along the Kokosing Gap Trail, and then doubles back to the finish line at the Dan Emmett Conference Center. At 11:00 am, take in the Old-Time Fiddle Contest, followed by the Banjo and Guitar contest on the First-Knox Main Stage on the square. Saturday evening, stop by for the Festival Bell Auction and stay to listen to our headliner!
New this year, the Dan Emmett Music & Arts Festival is sponsoring its first Video Contest! The goal for this contest is for participants to create and submit videos that promote the Festival in a positive way, showcasing any or all of the variety of experiences the Festival has to offer. The top 5 videos will be posted here on the Dan Emmett Music & Arts Festival website!
